Atlantic City Billiards Club hosted to 1st annual
New Jersey State 8 Ball Championships, on July 4, 2009. A strong
field came out to play, players like: Mike Miller, Shaun Wilkie,
Matt Krah, Derek Schwager, Carl Khan and Denise Reeves.
Leading the top half of the bracket was Mike Miller with wins
over Bob Madara 7-2, Peter Ziemak 7-3, Eddie Muma 7-5. Leading
the Bottom half of the bracket was Shaun Wilkie with wins over
Kenny Dee 7-2, Carl Khan 7-1, Mike Fernan 7-2 and Matt Krah
7-5.
Playing for the hot seat was Mike Miller VS Shaun Wilkie this
was a great match that went hill hill with Mike Miller winning
7-6 sending Shaun Wilkie to the one lost side. The big story
was young Derek Schwager after losing his first match 7-1 to
Matt Krah he
went on to beat the following Bob Madara 5-3, Mike Danato 5-2,
Mike Fernan 5-1, Kenny Dee -50, Eddie Muma 5-3, Carl Khan 5-1,
and Shaun Wilkie 5-2 to get to the finals.
In the finals it was Derek Schwager VS Mike Miller, Derek Schwager
has to be Mike Miller twice to win the title. First set went
hill hill with young Derek Schwager pulling out the win 7-6.
In the second set also went hill hill this time it was Mike
Miller pulling off the win and the 1st annual New Jersey State
Championship.
